A Yellow-Tie Referral Network is a group of people who:

1. Sell business-to-business, business-to-consumer or both.
2. Provide products and/or services that are noncompetitive with the products and services of other members in the Referral Network.
3. Sell to the same types of customers or clients. (The same sweet-spot prospects, so to speak.)
4. Agree to collaborate with one another, leverage one another's strengths, support one another's efforts and trade high-quality referrals.

Benefits and Features

The Yellow-Tie Referral Network program is designed to produce high-quality referrals first, and to gradually increase the quantity of those referrals over time.

To accomplish this goal, our program is structured as follows:

• Each network group will meet on a regular schedule that is agreed to by the members of the group. At these meetings, you should focus on learning about one another's business goals, products, services, and so forth, so that the referrals you give and receive are of the highest quality possible.
• To increase the likelihood that referrals will result in business, networks will be composed of members who sell to the same prospects, i.e., business-to-business, business-to-consumer or both. In addition, all members in a network must sell to the same types of prospects, such as businesses grossing from five to 20 million, or to customers who live within a 1/2 mile radius, or to the Fortune 1000. (With the help of his or her BOD mentor, the Referral Network director determines the exact prospect profile, and invites only members who sell to those same prospects.)
• We measure participation based on the quality and quantity of the referrals given, and provide our members with the environment and open communications they need to increase both quality and quantity over time.
