Speakers Special Interest Group (SIG)
We hope this question-and-answer session with Gill Wagner, director of the Speakers Special Interest Group (SIG), will help you decide whether this Yellow-Tie SIG is a fit for you.
If you want to visit a future Speakers Special Interest Group meeting to determine whether the group fits you and you fit the group, contact Gill using any of the means specified below and ask to be invited.

Q: We would like to hear your story -- why did you start this SIG?
A: Steve Smith started this SIG because he wanted to work with peers willing to help each other improve their speaking skills, find speaking engagements and collectively put on seminars of interest to business groups. I took over in December of 2008, because Steve thought the group could use an infusion of new leadership -- change is sometimes a good thing -- and I am currently focused on increasing the amount of speaking I do by a considerable amount.
---
Q: Who would be appropriate for this group?
A: The Speakers SIG is open to any Yellow-Tie member who does speak or wants to speak on topics he or she has expertise in that would be of interest to businesses. Most of us speak for marketing purposes. Some speak as a key portion of their income. All of us want to get better at speaking and want to learn how to get paid, or increase our fees, for speaking.
---
Q: When, where and how often does your SIG meet?
A: We currently meet on the first Tuesday of every month at M.I.S. Corporation offices at 3 Worthington Access Drive in Maryland Heights to discuss speaking opportunities, special seminars, and improving our speaking skills. We also have additional meetings when ramping up for a special event like the 18% Solution or other seminars.
---
Q: Who are your current members?
A: Membership varies since it's a SIG. You can contact me to get the current list if you want. But it typically runs at about 20 members in the SIG and 10-20 showing up at every meeting.
---
Q: How do you want people interested in your SIG to contact you?
A: Have them contact me via e-mail using this form:
